Alex Woltman
Alex Woltman’s career in the music business has focused on
working as a producer/mixer/engineer. His first job was at Goodnight LA Studio
(a private facility) in Van Nuys CA which is owned by world-renowned record
producer Mr. Keith Olsen. While working as a studio assistant, Alex learned the
art of record making by observing productions of artists such as Sammy Hagar,
Rick Springfield, Heart, Journey, and others. He subsequently worked as an
engineer and A&R scout at the Pasha Music House. This independent Record Label/Production/Publishing Company was distributed through CBS and Capitol
Record
companies. For 5 years Alex worked alongside many top producers and rock
acts of the day such as Motley Crue, Wasp, Quite Riot, Jon Butcher Axis and the Little
River Band.
Utilizing this experience, Alex has worked independently
for the past 13 years. During this time, he has perfected and expanded on his
production, arranging, mixing and engineering talent by working with band-based
artists of many different musical styles. He has produced a multitude of albums
for independent release in the U.S., Asia, and Europe. The majority of this
work has been completed in the Los Angeles area, however, some records have
necessitated traveling out of state even out of the country to work at the
famed Compass Point Studios. Additionally, he has recorded for such major
record labels as Columbia, Geffen, Hollywood, J Records, Mercury, and Warner
Bros.
As a record producer in the independent market, Alex has
been responsible for the creative as well as the business aspects of the
production. This includes overseeing the recording budget as well as
CD release licensing . In
addition, Alex has been instrumental in securing record deals for several of
the bands which he has produced and developed. He is also a published
songwriter. In 1999, Alex teamed with Mike Nightingale of Nightingale Rehearsal
Studios to open the “Producers House Studio” in North Hollywood, CA.
